Remarks & Notes
SP 4449 brings an excursion train south through the Deschutes River Canyon north of Maupin, OR with a long train of Amtrak and private cars bound for Bend. Using the BNSF Oregon Trunk Sub, the train is operating on one of the more spectacular (stretching the definition) mainlines you'll see. Below, the first of probably well over 100 cars chasing on this small road tries to keep up.

The Oregon Trunk, the route most well known for the Deschutes Railroad War, still sees BNSF-and at times detouring UP-traffic today. This album covers all images taken along the line between Celilo and Chemult, Oregon.
