Remarks & Notes |
The delivery of two Cascade Chargers caused for Amtrak's northbound Coast Starlight to run with six units yesterday. Since the new Cascades units came off the Southwest Chief a few days ago, it can be assumed that the first P42s were from that Chief as well, and the last two locomotives were the original Coast Starlight power that was on this set. Not visible in this pic is a Surfliner coach and two former Ski Train PVs that brought up the tail of this interesting passenger train.
A mudslide in Titlow just hours before the train's arrival in Portland made this consist stranded in the Union Station of the city of roses. |
