Remarks & Notes
Canadian National train no. 118 heads east through a curve near West Fitzwilliam, British Columbia, on July 14, 2014. The train is led by an older workhorse in the CN fleet—a bit faded, battered and dirty GE C40-8M “cowl” No. 2412—but still capable of powering an intermodal up Yellowhead Pass.

Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
