| 20302 top and tails with 20304 on the Wrenthorpe (Wakefield) - Grimsby 3S13 water cannon RHTT seen passing Wrawby Junction signal box on 20th November, 2013. Dominating the scene are the handsome LNER bracket signals, which must be amongst perhaps one of the finest sights of semaphore signals still left in the UK today. Sadly, only a few more operational months remain for these semaphore signals as a result of the Network Operating Strategy where all signalling in the UK will ultimately be controlled from just 12 railway operating centres. This will bring UK signalling into the 21st century and mark the end of an era for this Victorian technology. |
