Remarks & Notes
The Empire Builder treats its passengers to a somewhat foggy morning along Puget Sound as the train arrives in Seattle, WA on its last lap from Chicago. The final 30 miles from Everett to Seattle hug the Puget Sound shoreline offering a waterfront view for passengers. Unfortunately frequent mudslides interfere with operations from fall to spring and passengers sometimes have to bus in from Everett.

This train, which runs between Chicago and Seattle and Portland, takes its name from James J. Hill, who founded the Great Northern Railroad and extended it from Minnesota to the Pacific Coast.
