Well, it has been a long time coming, but the Rock Island E's at MAC have finally shown themselves in the sunlight outside of the shop. My grandpa worked on both of these engines when he was working as a Machinist at the Rocket House in Chicago in the 60s & 70s, so they've always had a special place in the heart for me. You can quibble about a few things here and there, but by and large, these two look fantastic and it will be incredible to see these out in the wild again!
