Here is an example of an GN homemade repaint into Big Sky Blue. GP20 no. 2002, among the only or very few classes of locos to retain their predecessor numbers in the BN merger, has been repainted blue. GN GP20s were unique in that they were the last long hood front GN diesels and the last to be delivered in the original Empire Builder orange and green w/duluxe gold striping. The first order had bells on the long hood, the second a bell on the roof near the cab. They were also unique in that they had GP9 style fuel tank/air reservoirs. The rest of the GP20 production had more of the GP30 style with the air reservoir horizontal above the tank.
