Milwaukee 576, an RSC-2 rebuilt into a low nose RSC-2.5 or 2M, shows off its damage at La Crosse, WI in July 1972. The unit was damaged on its train as it passed by Eau Claire Sand & Gravel after being hit by an end loader. The damage was mostly cosmetic, and the unit survived until April 1976 along with sister 578 on the right. Both were scrapped in June 1976 by PNC. The RSD-5, no. 573 was retired in September 1973, but sold to another company for industrial use. RSD-5s could not be sent to Eau Claire due to bridge weight restrictions. RSCs had 4 powered axles, thus were lighter.
