Getting up close and personal with a hump retarder in action is not for the faint of heart. Especially on Milwaukee Road in 1972. Here we have a boxcar getting clamped as it progresses down the hump at Pig's Eye Yard. I'm glad I used a telephoto lens for this shot, noting the lean on the car.
