Except for the weather it could almost be a PR pose, as an eclectic group of F units pose at the west side of Cedar Lake diesel shop, formerly Minneapolis & St. Louis's main shops on a drizzly March day in 1973. The Fs were the backbone of north-south C&NW operations between the Twin Cities and Iowa/Kansas City in the 1970s over former MSTL and CGW lines. CNW 222 was born as an FT, rebuilt as CNW 4052A, an FP9M, and saw service pulling the Twin Cities 400 and Duluth-Chicago passenger trains before entering freight service. The 208 is former CGW 110C, and the FP7 behind 222 is a former FEC FP7 as best as I can tell.

just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
