A Milwaukee Road SW1 switcher returns across the Chippewa River bridge to the yard after working west side industries in Eau Claire, WI. The three truss bridge was light weight restricting diesel power to SW1s, RSC-2s and SDL39s during the 1960s and early 70s. The bridge, now a walkway, is about the only landmark left in downtown Eau Claire that would identify the Milwaukee's existence.
