The Alaska Railroad ran a pair of sold out Kids Valentines Trains on the Saturday before Valentines Day. In this view we see the northbound returning 3 PM train approaching Rainbow Siding. The Kenai Mountains are bathed in Alpengow but the shadows have already gathered here. The 8 coaches and two SD70MACs look pretty insignificant in this massive and majestic country.
An ongoing/growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of railroads because most of us don't go out after sundown or before sunrise. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And I continue to find new "Lights In The Night"!)
