| Reading and Northern SD40-2's #3050 and #3054 are being prepared for the days work at the Humboldt Industrial Park. These two EMD's were part of a rebuild program that took place at the R&N's Port Clinton Locomotive Shop. The #3050 was the first of the two rebuilds and had a complete overhaul in 2015. The #3054 was second to be rebuilt and was completed in the Fall of 2016. The #3054, like the #3050, received an extensive overhaul, but also received a rebuilt cab and nose taken from donor SD50M #5029. These two units perform flawlessly together and are a favorite among the R&N crews. The quality of work performed by the R&N Mechanical Department is top notch! |
