| Weather permitting, on weekends the Colorado Railroad Museum likes to show off its collection of operating steam engines. When they ran DRGW 491 it drew a crowd, with railfans coming from miles away to hear and see this great engine running laps around the museum. The engine was built in 1902 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as a 4 foot gauge 2-8-0 and was rebuilt in 1930 as a 3 foot gauge, K-37 class 2-8-2. The museum restored the engine to full running condition in late 2014. |
