| One minute to go.... It's 12:59 PM and the Everett Railroad's 1 PM Santa's Express is less than 60 seconds from getting the high-ball for the run to Brookes Mill. A couple of straggling ticket-holders make their way to the platform as the Conductor waits, checking his watch. Just a second or two after I pressed my shutter release, #11's engineer gave 2 quick tugs on the whistle cord, which had the desired effect. The stragglers picked up their stride just a bit and this train was ready to go right on the hour. |
