| Eastbound taconite train bound for Granite City, IL, passes thru East Dubuque on the BN Aurora Sub. 2 SD60's of some type and a kicker were pretty standard power for these trains til BNSF got into DP power and AC power. The Granite Steel Plant was closed in December 2015 coming to the end of era of these taconite trains along the BN/BNSf river line. Talks that plant may open again in 2017. |
