Remarks & Notes
The only two EMD hood units painted in the Daylight scheme, Southern Pacific SD45R 7399 and SD40E 7342, drift through Ansel, California. After helping the World’s Fair Daylight over Tehachapi, the pair is running light to Los Angeles. The 4449 will be right on their block for the remainder of the journey.

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
