A rebuilt Union Pacific EMD SD40N leads a manifest eastbound near Brady, Neb., the day before Halloween 2016. There's no shortage of trains on UP's mainline east of North Platte along Route 30, but it is rather unusual to see a quartet of EMD's, and especially two standard cabs, at the head end of a mainline freight.
