With a hand brake being applied, two covered hoppers are about to come to a stop on the Hobbs Island Road crossing at the very south end of the Huntsville and Madison County Railroad. The covered hoppers are being rolled through the switch in order to place them behind the locomotives for a trip north to downtown Huntsville, AL. HMCR locomotives 9554 and 3986 are seen in the background after pulling the cars to the switch out of a Saint-Gobain plant getting in the clear. The HMCR tracks end just a short distance behind the photographer.
