EBT 12 built in December of 1911 was the first Mikado (2-8-2) Baldwin locomotive on the East Broad Top Railroad property, On her maiden voyage up the mountain to Robertsdale, It derailed its lead truck on an ice build up inside Sideling Hill Tunnel. The locomotive completely left the tracks when it picked a switch at on the other side of the mountain near Cole's Siding.. In 1960, #12 was restored to service with the reopening of the line and rechristened "Millie" after Nick Kovalchick's daughter. It saw regular use during the EBT's excursion years all the way up to 2011.. Will she run again? We can only hope! 12's younger sister #18 sits quietly in the far stall not having run since just before the end of the railroad's common carrier years in 1956.
