Remarks & Notes 
A high-hood N&W SD45 is the leader as a trio of EMDs heads west along the former Nickel Plate mainline toward Calumet Yard in Chicago. The train is about to cross 165th Street in Hammond while the Indiana Harbor Belt's Osborn Yard used to service local industries is seen off to the right. Tom Golden photo.
