Remarks & Notes

Osborn Interlocking in Hammond is where the Indiana Harbor Belt's Kankakee Line crosses the former Nickel Plate Chicago to Fort Wayne mainline. Just west of the interlocking, Osborn Yard is a small industrial yard utilized by the Indiana Harbor Belt to service customers such as Pullman Standard and NIPSCO. A pair of IHB NW2s is seen switching cars in the yard on a sunny fall day. Tom Golden photo.
