Nearly all the fall color is gone and the sunsets by 1730, not ideal for photography.
Making due with the cards we are dealt with, a B&W shot seemed appropriate for this line - ex-C&O Big Sandy Subdivision.
Idled about a year ago for declining traffic, the line is now a very large branch line, with tentacles sweeping out in every direction in southeastern Kentucky serving what few (open) coal mines remain.
The line is also a good hold-out of classic C&O cantilever signals.
