Laboring up the eastern slope of the Tehachapi grade Union Pacific's westbound MWCFR approaches the 'three amigos' searchlight installation at Warren. Strategically placed to serve the CTC ruled main track 1 and ABS (direction of traffic) controlled main track 2, MP 374 was the only location on the mountain where three individual searchlight signals stood guard side-by-side. Today the searchlights, code-lines, ABS, and even the MWCFR itself are only happy memories.
