A cold wintry rain greets the Canadian upon its arrival at Vancouver, BC. The grayness of the day is accentuated by the missing drumhead on the observation car. By this time, VIA has taken over the operation of the train. In future years VIA will discontinue the former CN Supercontinental and move the Canadian to the former CN station, and even reroute the train off CP for much of its routing across Canada.
