Today's Q619 is a hefty one with 142 cars and over 8800 feet in length. With that information in hand, the forward thinking dispatcher uses the tools and trackage at his disposal to keep this train rolling as it comes into LaGrange. Moving the large train onto track 1 from track 2 keeps Q619 from having to come to a complete stop and wait for the Q684 to clear up on track 2 who had just rolled through here minutes before.
