Remarks & Notes

GN 332 and a former GN F3B idle at the former GN passenger roundhouse at the east side entry to St. Paul's Union Station in April 1970. This photo was taken a month into the BN merger, but its all GN on this day, albeit the last new passenger power vs. some of the oldest diesel passenger power on the railroad. It was not uncommon for the Empire Builder to run off season with this combination by 1969-70. The big SDP would be kept by BN for freight service after Amtrak showed up, May 1, 1971.
