Remarks & Notes
As thunderheads kick up over northern New Mexico Amtrak's eastbound Southwest Chief splits a pair of Union Switch and Signal upper quadrant semaphore signals (7121 and 7121), west of Colmor, on BNSF's Raton Subdivision. As #4 speeds passed the near century old semaphores the passengers undoubtably are more interested in the groves of sunflowers that line the old Santa Fe before climbing into the mountains above Raton.
