The big bridge over the Mill River near Cuttingsville, Vermont, was the location of many publicity photos for the Rutland Railroad. It's always a lot of fun to finally get to visit locations of well-known photographs, even if you are far from the first one to shoot a train there. On September 12, 2016, Vermont Rail System train GMRC 263-12 (Rutland to Bellows Falls) crosses the river, with Vermont GP38 207, GMTX GP38-2 2205 and LLPX GP38-2 2334 for power. Unfortunately, due to the drought in the Northeast U.S., the river's water was below normal, and the river otters that live here were nowhere to be seen.
