Remarks & Notes
High on the mountain above Sugar Run, symbol freight LMPI roars up the final few miles to the summit at Gallitzin. Two helpers are coupled ahead of the road power and two more helpers are on the rear as the train comes through Allegrippus curve and beneath the 2454 signal bridge. Conrail had a virtual lock on Northeast-Midwest traffic in its day and ran a large amount of this business over the Alleghenies. Manifest traffic was healthy and they wasted no time.
