Remarks & Notes
These big old FM's rode like a loaded cement mixer derailed quite often but boy could you switch cars with em! They had a two piece throttle and a cab that if you were claustrophobic you would not be very comfortable. The 6BL brake valve sat between the sander valve and the bell valve and were almost eye level which you had to stand up and look over to see across the cab. The horn valve chords were quite a reach away above all this stuff. A little guy like myself had no problem getting in and out of the cab but some of those six foot plus trainmen got some lumps on their heads cursing their way out the doors.
