With the Santa Ana Mountains looming in the distance, BNSF train S-LPCSCO2-09 (Intermodal Stacks; Logistics Park Chicago IL to Thenard CA; over 13,000 tons and 11845 feet with the power, which includes two sets of DPU) meets an eastbound, BNSF Q-LACNSA6-13 (Guaranteed Service Intermodal; Los Angeles CA to NS Ashland Ave Yard [Chicago] IL), led by ET44C4 3868, at Metrolink's La Sierra station. With a double-track (and occasionally triple-track) mainline almost all the way from Los Angeles to Chicago, rolling meets such as this are very common – but still exciting, as these long trains just take it in stride.
