Remarks & Notes
Mine run U01 is feet away from entering the control point at Marrowbone Junction passing an abandoned N&W boxcar as they finish their journey on the Lenore Branch. The rails the train are currently on are part of the Old Main that once ran from Naugatuck through Lenore, up to Wayne, and to Kenova, WV along Twelvepole Creek, before being abandoned in the 1930's in favor of the flatter Big Sandy Extension. To the left, the Marrowbone Branch runs from Pigeon Creek Yard to the Consol mine at Marrowbone, which surpisingly still sees active movement in today's rough coal market.
