Trains on the Northeast Corridor can be very quiet, and noise from an adjacent street can let an approaching train sneak up on the unwary. Such was the case when this Amtrak GG1 snuck up from the south as I was looking for trains from the north. As a result, I ended up aligning the camera and releasing the shutter a bit later that I would have preferred.
