| Norfolk Southern GP38-2 5311 and a Conrail push car are parked on the Carteret Industrial Track. The railroad line was once part of the Central Railroad of New Jersey's Sound Shore Branch, once boasting passenger service to such stations as Chrome. The passenger service is long gone and the railroad line is severed with the Rahway River bridge being long out of service. The track that remains within Carteret is known as the Carteret Industrial Track, serving a Kinder Morgan facility. |
