Remarks & Notes

The Empire Builder has exited the tunnel under Seattle and is proceeding through North Portal interlocking on its way north to Everett, WA before turning east to head over Stevens Pass towards Chicago. The Seattle waterfront trolley was still in service at this time, and trolley no. 272 was headed north to Broad St., just ahead of the Amtrak locomotives. I spent 13 years working in the building just above the Empire Builder. It is the Art Institute of Seattle, and made a nice place to keep an eye on BN and Amtrak trains as well as more recent Sound Transit commuter runs.
