Dense traffic on the Gotthard line near Pollegio, which has 5 tracks in this section. In the foreground, on the siding track of the new Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) line, we can see an ICN tilting train RABDe 500 which is used for the exercise for the opening ceremony on 1st of june. On the double track of the present Gotthard mountain line (which was relocated parallel to the new GBT line in this part), train 671 Basel-Luzern-Lugano with two ETR 610 highspeed tilting trains and Eurocity 16 from Milan to Zürich with another ETR 610 are just meeting another. The view is down from the mountain, about 420 meter above the valley floor. On the right is the Santi Innocenti church of Pollegio, on the left temporary buildings (tents) for the opening ceremony of the new Gotthard Base Tunnel line on 1st of june 2016.
