Originally built as an SD40T-2 for the Southern Pacific, NYSW 3012 was rebuilt from the ground up as an SD33-ECO. The locomotive retains its original nose, but the long hood was completely resigned to accommodate the new engine. The locomotive is seen in Sparta, NJ where it's spending it's last weekend as the SJ-1 job which used this locomotive was abolished on Friday. The WS-6 will now handle switching Sparta Junction and will turn out of Ridgefield Park.
