One Last Stay in Sparta

For the last year and a half the New York Susquehanna & Western has kept an engine in Sparta for designated use on the SJ-1. This job exclusively switched Sparta Junction and occasionally made runs to the Southern terminus of the NYS&W when the SU-99 was unable to deliver cars to Sparta. However this weekend marks the end of the SJ-1 as NYS&W 3012 sits patiently with a cut of cars that will be picked up by the SU-100. The Sparta job will now turn out of Ridgefield Park Sunday-Thursday and run West to Sparta.
