Remarks & Notes
May 10, 2016 marked the 147th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory Summit, linking the east and west coasts of United States with its first transcontinental railroad. This replica of engine 60, also known as 'Jupiter', was completed in 1979, replacing the original built by Schenectady Locomotive Works of New York in 1868, and scrapped by the Gila Valley, Globe and Northern Railroad in 1909.
