Remarks & Notes
Regional train 37661 of the Renfe from Gijón to León is run by a Talgo of the 130 series "Patito", rather special! The reason is, that this Talgo is running through from León as ALVIA service 661 via Miranda de Ebro-Pamplona-Zaragoza to Barcelona Sants, a journey of 11 hours. The train is leaving the 3071 meter long Perruca tunnel under the Pajares pass and reached 1270 meter a.s.l. from Gijón, which is 2 meter a.s.l. only. The Perruca tunnel was opened in 1884 and electrified in 1924 with 3000 V DC. The mostly single track Pajares pass line is one of the most impressive mountain lines of Europe, with more then 60 tunnels, loops, viaducts and tight curve radius.
