On an afternoon full of clouds, scenic Lombard Canyon is peppered with contrasty lights and darks as they roll over the landscape. An eastbound BNSF coal train—sometimes lit by the sun, other times not—snakes along the Missouri River traversing Montana Rail Link’s Second Subdivision between Helena and Laurel.
