"Amtrak Regional Through Westchester Avenue Station" Amtrak Northeast Regional 190 heads east under the abandoned NYW&B Westchester Ave Station on Amtrak's Hell Gate Line. The station was designed by Cass Gilbert & completed using terra cotta detailing in 1908. Service ceased in 1937, but due to the way the station was constructed, it still remains today, suspended over Amtrak's Hell Gate Line (Northeast East Corridor). Due to the angle of the station and the path of the sun, this shot can only be done using the first two Regionals of the morning OR during somewhat cloudy weather. *Photo inspired by Sullivan & Sullivan.
