Remarks & Notes
The Long Bien Bridge was designed by Gustav Eiffel (he of tower fame) and opened in 1903 - at the time it was the longest bridge in Asia. It was then subsequently heavily damaged in the Vietnam War but has been partially rebuilt and continues to carry trains, pedestrians and the ubiquitous mopeds. Here a Czech built D12E departs the city with a train to Haiphong.
