On August 11th, 2015, Portland and Western's Westside district trestle in Sherwood caught fire and was lost. Three teenagers were caught, cited for trespassing, and charged with reckless burning, most likely caused by a cigarette of theirs. The trestle was 85 years old at the time (ex-SP, the Westside district is still currently leased by the UP), 600 feet long, and was over 50 feet high. Luckily, no business is effected on the line due to the loss.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
