Highspeed tilting train ETR 610 of Trenitalia is running as Eurocity 17 from Zürich to Milan and passing a "modern signalbox" or interlocking tower, the operation center south (BZ Süd/Betriebszentrale Süd) of the SBB in Pollegio, and the substation. The train is running on the double track of the Gotthard mountain line, parallel in the foreground is the double track of the future Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) line and a passing track, just ending here. From the dispatching center Pollegio are dispatched, operated and supervised the whole Gotthard line from the italian border in Chiasso and Ranzo-San Abbondio (Luino line), and Locarno, in the south, to Arth Goldau (including) in the north, and the new Gotthard Base Tunnel and the Ceneri Base Tunnel (from 2020).
