Green and yellow geeps are shown rolling 101 through the tiny Bourbon County village of Hiattville on a beautiful late winter afternoon. Behind the modern diesels is a big train, and they're running on good-looking track. You could get the impression that all is well, but this train and its northbound counterpart will likely be the only movements on the Sedalia Sub today. Like Hiattville - and all of Bourbon County, which has half the population it had a century earlier - the Katy's St Louis line's best days are long gone. Soon UP will sell viable segments, and abandon the rest for reuse as a hiking trail. At least the trail will preserve some 'feel' of what was there before.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
