| Heavily laden with lumber from the Pacific Northwest, Union Pacific's eastbound QRVWC begins its climb through the Tehachapi foothills at Ilmon, leaving the southern San Joaquin Valley behind. After crossing Caliente Creek just west of Ilmon the Mojave Subdivision comes to ride above the creek's northern bank just prior to entering the twisting confines of the Caliente Creek narrows. Leading on this day is 2015 production ET45AH UP 2598, also in the headend consist is General Electric tier IV demonstrator unit GECX 2023. In the distance the train's three 'swing' mid train DPUs have just come into view. |
