| I set the way-back machine to 10-26-1996 and Rutherford, New Jersey. You are looking at the last commercially built passenger steam locomotive made in the USA. Outshopped by Lima Locomotive works of Lima Ohio in 1948, Chesapeake & Ohio 4-8-4 Greenbrier No. 614 lived again for a series of excursions promoted by impresario Ross Rowland. Running from Hoboken to Port Jervis, these legendary runs will live forever in the collective memory of those who saw this magnificent machine in action. |
