An Albany-bound freight waits at Muscogee Junction, the closest thing to a hot spot in Columbus for train-watching. The curving line at left is an industrial lead. Next is the oformer Seaboard Air Line secondary main from Richland. Finally, there are the two former SOU/CofG lines to Albany and Macon.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
